Serena Marshall

Serena Marshall is an award-winning journalist based in D.C. with a background in health reporting.

She spent the past three years as a correspondent for ABC NewsOne and ABC News Radio, where she reported on Congress, the White House. Previously she worked as a beat producer and digital journalist for a variety of ABC network correspondents, providing content for every platform.

During her time as a reporter/producer for ABC News, she was part of the breaking news team that won an Edward R. Murrow for their coverage of the Baltimore Riots, and a Peabody for their coverage of Superstorm Sandy: “The Perfect Storm.” She helped lead the network's coverage of the restoration of diplomatic between the U.S. and Cuba, which won a WHCA Merriman Smith award for outstanding coverage

Originally from Florida, she received her undergraduate and Master’s in Science/Health Communication from the University of Florida.

She began her career in journalism working for ABC’s Chief Medical Correspondent and former CDC Director Richard Besser. During her time there she launched a show, working with hospitals, focusing on following patients long-term through their medical procedures.
